GROUP CLASSES OFFERED
GROUP PIANO CLASS
The group piano class teaches a traditional piano lesson class where students will be placed according to their ability in a class of four to eight students... each using their own digital piano. The focus of the class is on enjoying music and learning the basics -- time, tempo, rhythm, pitch, and basic music notation -- concepts that are then applied in relation to the piano. Fall and Spring recitals will be a highlight of the group piano class. Group piano classes consist of eight weekly 45-minute sessions and is offered two times in the fall and two times in the spring.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Learn how to take captivating pictures in our new photography class with professional photographer John Hudson. This introduction to digital photography consists of four (4) 2.5 hour sessions for $160. Class topics will include The Art of Photography, The Science of Photography, The Art and Science of Light, and Image Finishing.
CLASSIC CHRISTIAN YOGA
The classic Christian yoga class is for the person new to yoga as well as someone who has experience practicing side by side working on fundamentals and classic Hatha yoga postures. Tapping into the belief that Christ is our focus and the source of our strength, we'll develop higher levels of concentration, strength, flexibility, and endurance. Each class will have some time for quiet reflection introduced by a scripture passage to aid in calming the mind and accessing the peace that is available through faith in God.
DANCE
The Arts School at Prince of Peace is proud to be partnered with Ballet Foundation to provide dance training in a myriad of styles including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and more. SCHEDULING
The school year at The Arts School is divided into two main sessions, one in the fall and one in the spring. The Arts School also offers private lessons only in an abbreviated summer session as well.
PAYMENT POLICY
Group classes at The Arts School follow a predetermined schedule and tuition is due at the time of enrollment for each class. Because of the nature of the group class setting, The Arts School will not be able to reimburse for missed classes and make-up classes will not be available. In the event that the instructor of the class is not available or the class is canceled due to inclement weather, the class will be made up throughout the remainder of the session. There is also an annual registration fee of $45 per student due at the time of registration. Payments should be made payable to Prince of Peace with The Arts School in the memo line and should be remitted directly to The Arts School office.
INCLEMENT WEATHER AND SCHOOL CLOSINGS
The Arts School strictly follows the inclement weather policy of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and Christian School. Please listen to local radio and TV broadcasts for up-to-date information concerning school closings. If the campus remains open and available on a day when lessons have been cancelled, special arrangements may be made on an individual basis between the student and the instructor to have a lesson. When inclement weather does develop, The Arts School reserves the right to cancel lessons for the remainder of the day. Please call The Arts School office for cancellation notices or to determine whether a decision to close the campus has been made during the day.
