What lessons and classes are offered?

Private Lessons at The Arts School include piano, voice, guitar, all brass instruments, all woodwind instruments, and percussion.  Group classes include piano, yoga and dance, photography, and Kindermusik.  In future years, we anticipate expanding our group classes to include additional visual art classes.

 

What age do I have to be to take a class or lesson?

We offer classes and lessons that are appropriate for students of all ages (birth through seniors).

 

How do I know which length of lesson is appropriate?

Previous private/group lesson experience and skill level are the primary determining factors for deciding the appropriate lesson length.  We are more than willing to offer assistance in determining an appropriate lesson length for a student.

 

 

30-minute lessons -- ideal for young children as well as beginning students for all disciplines   45-minute lessons -- ideal for students who have previous private/group lesson experience.  Students who enroll in these lessons are at an intermediate level of study.   60-minute lessons -- ideal for students who have had years of private/group lesson experience.  These students are advanced musicians and these lessons are based on teacher recommendation.

Where are classes and lessons held?

All lessons and classes take place on the Prince of Peace campus.  Dance classes through Ballet Foundation take place at their studios located a couple miles south of the Prince of Peace campus.

 

Will there be performance opportunities?

Yes!  We will have several opportunities throughout the year for students to participate in performances and worship services based on the recommendation of their instructor.

 

Where do I park and where do I enter the building?

Parking is available in the lot immediately west of the Fine Arts Center along Midway road.  For lessons or classes that take place in our main building, please enter through the main Fine Arts Center entrance, unless coming from Prince of Peace Christian School.  For classes and lessons that take place in the Adult Education Center, please enter through the north door of the facility.

 

Where do I find an application and how do I enroll?

Applications for private lessons and group classes are available on our website.  Once completed application forms and necessary payments are received, the student will be notified by their instructor to arrange and confirm the lesson/class time and location.
